Decor Elements - My Kids Rooms with a COUPON !!!

Hi There!

Sorry that it has taken me several days to post again *bad blogger*. I have been busy finishing up the designs and cutting for my all my classes this weekend in Ottawa! I'm pleased to say the classes have filled up and I hope everyone loves the designs as much as I do!!

I also put up some more Decor Elements (Vinyl Wall Art) in the house this week. As you may have read in a previous post - I started with my husbands laptop - click here if you missed it.

Above you'll see a pic of the saying I put on my son's wall. I'm sorry the picture isn't as clear as I wanted it to be, there was sun on the wall and my camera didn't do well with it. Either way - this saying is very special to me. As most of you know my son has Autism...and therefore he didn't meet many of his milestones "on time". I love these words... "Life isn't a matter of milestones but of moments"

Of course my daughter wanted some Decor Elements of her own - so away we went with some of the butterflies.

We still have some more to put up and of course she wants me to order many, many more - the flowers, the princess theme! You name it :)

**SPECIAL FOR BLOG READERS**
From today until September 28th, 2009 I will be offering
FREE SHIPPING on all Decor Elements orders of $50 or more!
Canadian addresses only...sorry :(
This offer is only valid through me - Jennifer DiMarco

Sweet Centers Halloween Card - Eek a Spider!

This morning I finished off the cards I have been designing with the new Stampin' Up! Sweet Centers stamp set and sweet treat cups!

Here are several pictures of the Hallowe'en card I made with a spider ring inside being the sweet treat! I made a pull up bookmark (EEK you're sweet) that would release the treats (spider ring in this card). In the pic below it is pulled up half way to show you....

Here is the inside - I stamped the words a Halloween Hi! on the inside. When the tab is pulled up, that is where the spider ring will come out :)

And here's the spider ring. I love this design (thanks to a fellow male demonstrator named Mike)because you don't have to take the card apart to get at the sweet treat inside. Also..once the spider ring is out, I could add hallowe'en candies instead of the ring. Just think about how cute some candy corn would look in here!

This card was made using:
Stamp Sets: Sweet Centers, The More the Merrier
Cardstock: Dusty Durango, Crushed Curry, Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink: Dusty Durango
Extras: Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/8 Circle Punch, Dusty Durango polkadot Grosgrain ribbon
Non Stampin' Up!: plastic spider ring

Upsy Daisy Decor Elements Application....

Back in August, I posted about what an awesome (and inexpensive) idea I thought this was...
one month later - I'm proud to say I'm trying it out myself!

DECOR ELEMENTS!!!

This is my first (of many!!) Decor Elements Purchases from Stampin' Up! If you are looking for a fun and fast home make-over to do this Fall, why not check out the hottest trend: vinyl wall art.

Its quick, simple and so rewarding.

It goes up easily (there is even a quick on line video with instructions I can send you) and if you get tired of it, it comes down easily (the product is not re-usable, but your walls are unharmed). We even have new stencil products too.

There are great images for your kitchen, your entrance way, your living room and the kids rooms (both boys and girls)! And there are items you can personalize too. I am in love with Stampin' Up! Decor Elements vinyl art!

As you can see...I started with something simple - my husband's laptop.

I am hoping that by adding my pink accents...it can become mine ;)

I took pics along the way to show you how easy it is...

Above I am transferring the decor element from the grid paper side onto the transfer sheet using the applicator tool.

You then flip it over and peel back the grid paper so the image is on the sticky transfer sheet. (didn't get a good pic)

You put the transfer sheet on your item (wall - or in this case laptop). Use the applicator tool to transfer it on...start from the middle and work your way out. You don't want any bubbles.

Then start peeling back a little at a time. If there is any still sticking to the transfer sheet - put it back, rub again and then pull back again...EASY PEASY!!

More..more...
And...below - we are DONE!!

That was soooo EASY!!

Now off to add some butterflies to my daughters room!

To see the awesome Definitively Decorative Brochure - click here - or email me your snail mail address and I can send you one! (Canada only).

Birthday Cards for Kids....

Now that school is back in, this morning I decided to make some kid friendly birthday cards for when my kids get invited to birthday parties! I wanted to pick a design that is easy for my either of my kids to replicate...so of course I got punchy!!

My card design is actually partially CASED from a card one of my downline members received in a swap. I remember looking at it and saying - that is great for kids to make. Unfortunately, it was over a year ago, and I don't have a sample of the original artists work to name her - other than the memory in my brain.

What's your preference - image top right, or bottom right??

That's it for tonight! I've got lots of Christmas Cards to make for a custom order...(yup...people are already placing their Christmas Card orders with me! u can too !)

Have a fabulous weekend...

Pretties Kit with Thouroughly Modern Paper

Once I had found *the card* for Christmas, I moved on to more sunnier ideas that have been rolling around my mind. I decided to pull out my Pretties Kit once again and of course my In Colours. I love this card! You could add a sentiment on the bottom right if you'd like, but I am leaving mine just the way it is for now until I know who I am going to send it to. Members attending my upcoming classes and workshops will also be making this card!

I made this card using:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Melon Mambo
Designer Series Paper: Thouroughly Modern
Accessories: Pretties Kit Flower, Filigree Brads, Circle Punches, Bermuda Bay Polka Dot Grograin Ribbon (yes there is polkadots on the other side of the ribbon!)

Don't forget to sign up for my classes or book your workshop/stamping party today!

Scenic Season - THE Christmas Card :)

**NOTE THIS CARD IS FOR SALE - CLICK ON THIS POST*********

Hello Again!

After my brayering fiasco (see previous post of not so nice cards). I decided to go back to my basics...sponging. It was sponging that I first started doing on my cards 5 years ago...and I was pretty good at it! So here we go...

Above is the final product - my WOW! My absolute favourite Christmas Card for this year. I have always used Lovely as a Tree..but this year, I am going to use Scenic Season! I will be featuring this card in all my upcoming Classes and Workshops. (Registration on now!!)

For those of you who have never stamped with me, to see my creation process...and how many cards I make before I find one I LOVE...I am going to walk you through it. Some of you may get fabulous results your 1st time out...sometimes I do too...but rarely. Here is an honest look. lol.

This was my 1st card...on shimmery paper. Very simple (my style). You can hardly see it, but I sponged the top half in bordering blue. The image is stamped in Night of Navy.

Not too bad right...well it wasn't the WOW I wanted. Its nice...but not my WOW.

This is Christmas Card attempt #2. I went back at it several times, to "fix" what I didn't like. It seemed to be frustrating me more and more...so I left it...and started fresh....

I know...#2 sucks. Sigh. I tried and tried to fix it...lol

This was attempt #3. I do like it, but I didn't like the snow around the trees as much...so I recut my "mat" and made it closer in. I also added the moon for the bird (love it) and made my stars more visible. I do like it...but I could do better...

This time I am THRILLED with the results!! Woohoo!! I hope you like it too.

So there you have it, my creative process...

I hope it has inspired you today! (and made you smile..)
This card is for sale!! Click HERE for the details...

Happy Stamping!

Brayering *not* at its best...but that's okay!

This past weekend, I also decided to get reconnected with my brayer.
Its been over 3 years since I have pulled it out - I know, I know!!
But...now you see why. At this point, we still don't get a long that well!

Here are two cards that I made using the Scenic Season stamp set, along with some reinkers and my brayer. Neither one turned out as I had imagined in my head..but alas, you can't have everything all the time. FYI - I embossed the trees first.

Here was my second attempt. After this one, I decided to go back to my trusty sponging!
I'll show those creations in my next post...

Stay tuned..

Coaster and a Cute Sheep

Hello!

I hope you had a wonderful Labour Day Long Weekend!

I did A LOT of stamping...both personal to mail out to members of my family who have recently had a baby, and business - creating a variety of cards for my upcoming classes!

While creating - my daughter decided she wanted a coaster just like Mommy's. Her stamping wish is my command! It was made using a retired stamp set -My favourite Teddy Bear. I stamped the images in Stazon, then coloured them in with my Stampin' Pastels. So fun!!

I also decided to pull out my Big Shot and make her a cute little card for her first week at school.

This cute sheep was made using:
Cardstock: Whisper White and Basic Black
Big Shot with the Scallop Circle Dies #2
Punches: 1" Circle, Large Oval & Boho Blossoms Punch
Extra: white gel pen

I will feature this card (and other cute ones like it) in my Get Punchy! Class in October.

I hope you enjoyed the ideas!
