As we were packaging up all the over 100 Valentine's treats and Love Bot boxes
...I realized oopsie..didn't take any pics....

Snowman Soup Packages - 75 done, 25 to go!

Snowman Soup Packages

Many of you heard me talking about my Snowman Soup Packages on Twitter
over the weekend and asked to see a pic of how I put them together...

So far- with help from my little elves (5 and 7 yrs old)- we have 75 done with only 25 more to go....

The kids give them to their classmates, teachers and my son's therapists.
Its a handmade way to give everyone important in our lives a special treat at Christmas time..

Here is a close up of the poem I use...
I adapted it a bit from one I saw years ago.

And here are the contents:
Hot Chocolate Package, Candy Cane and a lil bag of mini marshmallows...

Here are some other poems that I have seen used:

"Was told you've been real good this year
Always glad to hear it
With freezing weather drawing near
You'll need to warm the spirit
So here's a little Snowman Soup
Complete with stirring stick
Just add hot water, sip it slow
It's sure to do the trick!"

or...

 A little cup of cocoa,
         I'm sending your way,
For you to sip and enjoy,
         On some cold lonely day.

         As you sip this cocoa,
It's warmth will warm your heart.
Just like our friendship warmed mine,
         Right from the very start.

or...

When the weather outside is frightful,
         Snowman Soup can be delightful.
May it warm your spirit and your soul.
Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!

When you feel a chill or 'burrrrrr',
Use the peppermint stick to stir.
Add hot water and sip it slow.
Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow.

Whichever you choose, I'm sure the recipient will love the handmade gift!

More pics from Quebec City Regional Seminar!

My thoughts for the day: Heeheee...Shannon Googled me :) Shannon West googled me!! lol. :) Love yah!

As promised...
Here are some more pics from the Stampin' Up! Regional Convention in Quebec City.

The amazing 3D pumpkin frame and Thanksgiving candle (above) were also made by Brandi Wiggins! She is one talented stamper!

Here is another view so you can see how awesome it is!

Now onto the presentations.... Carrie Cudney is a fantastic presenter!! Thank you so much for your Tempting Techniques.. 'cause that's what they were!

This one is done putting our Stampin' Pastels chalks in our crystal effects...and mixin it all together to make a beautiful bubble of colour. Can't wait to try this!!

I am so sorry the final project is blurry...but its awesome!!!

Here are two more techniques Carrie showed us.

The one on the left she called Colour to Background.
Using wax paper in the Big Shot embossing folder Petals a Plenty

The one on the right is Faux Reptile Scales.
This one is totally awesome - and I'll be trying it in a class... Its using paper towels!!
You can see the strip she used under the turtle on the left. Its feely too!

And here is an adorable bookmark using the Stampin' Up! crocheted flowers that are dyed with our reinkers. Love that you can personalize them to your projects with a just a few drops of our reinkers dies! Of course she choose Rich Razzleberry one of our awesome In Colours.

That's it for now... next post I'll have pics of my family vacation in Quebec City too!

Sweet Centers Halloween Card - Eek a Spider!

This morning I finished off the cards I have been designing with the new Stampin' Up! Sweet Centers stamp set and sweet treat cups!

Here are several pictures of the Hallowe'en card I made with a spider ring inside being the sweet treat! I made a pull up bookmark (EEK you're sweet) that would release the treats (spider ring in this card). In the pic below it is pulled up half way to show you....

Here is the inside - I stamped the words a Halloween Hi! on the inside. When the tab is pulled up, that is where the spider ring will come out :)

And here's the spider ring. I love this design (thanks to a fellow male demonstrator named Mike)because you don't have to take the card apart to get at the sweet treat inside. Also..once the spider ring is out, I could add hallowe'en candies instead of the ring. Just think about how cute some candy corn would look in here!

This card was made using:
Stamp Sets: Sweet Centers, The More the Merrier
Cardstock: Dusty Durango, Crushed Curry, Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink: Dusty Durango
Extras: Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/8 Circle Punch, Dusty Durango polkadot Grosgrain ribbon
Non Stampin' Up!: plastic spider ring

Happy Stamping!
